Sacraments at St. Paul's
Baptism—In the Sacrament of Baptism, an individual becomes a full
member of Christ’s Body, the Church. Baptism is celebrated within the
context of a Sunday morning Holy Eucharist service, where the newly
baptized are surrounded by their Christian community. Adults presenting
a child or themselves should contact the rector to prepare for the
sacrament.
Confirmation/Reception– The Sacrament of Confirmation is offered
for those wishing to make a public, adult profession of their faith and
to journey with the Episcopal church. Adults prepare by attending
sessions in the fall and spring. Youth who choose to be confirmed should
be in 10th grade at the time of Confirmation and participate in the
two-year program of confirmation classes held on Sunday mornings.
Reception is for those who have been confirmed in another denomination
and wish to be received into the Episcopal tradition.
Marriage– Couples wishing to marry should contact the rector for
information on marriage preparation and planning meetings. Booklets
describing St. Paul’s wedding guidelines are available in the parish
office.
Reconciliation– A Ministry of forgiveness and reunion takes place
between people and God in weekly Sunday worship, but clergy staff are
also available for private celebration of reconciliation.
Visiting the Sick– Pastoral care and communion is available at
home or in the hospital. All parishioners are encouraged to make their
needs known to the clergy or parish office.
Celebration of a Life after Death– Please contact the clergy as
soon as possible, and at any time, for support and assistance with
liturgical celebrations and during the difficult time of grieving.
