GREENING OF THE CHURCH
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 23RD, AFTER THE 10:00 A.M. SERVICE

Have coffee and treats downstairs in the Parish Hall while we wait for the garlands,
wreaths and poinsettias to be delivered to the back of the church by 11:30 a.m.

Many hands make light and quick work!  There are all types of jobs to be had:

 - up on a ladder hanging wreaths
  - attaching bows to wreaths
 - arranging poinsettias
 - hanging garlands
 - decision maker

Biggest benefit . . . A wonderful way to really feel the reason for the season while
experiencing the wonderful smell of balsam wreaths and garlands.  Thank you!

Christmas Eve Festivities

SHARING MUSICAL GIFTS: For the prelude time before the 4:30 p.m. service on Christmas Eve, we would like young people to share their musical talents with the congregation. If you son or daughter, grandchild or other child you know would like to play a short Christmas song on the piano or other instrument, please contact our youth choir director, Carolyn Rynex. This is a great way for those who are just beginning to play instruments and those who have more experience to share their talents in church. We hope to have several children play their songs, so be sure to sign up.

Christmas Pageant and Youth Choir

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT:
The annual retelling of the story of Jesus’ birth with children and youth dressing up in various roles will be a part of the 4:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service.  For those who will be with us for the first time this Christmas eve, all children and youth who come to the service are invited to come to the back of church, preferably 20-30 minutes before it starts, and dress as a character in the nativity story.  We have many angel, shepherd, animal and king costumes in all sizes.  This is a very informal pageant; no rehearsals or speaking parts for the kids required!  During the retelling of the story, the kids will be invited forward based on what costume they are wearing, and by the end of the story, the front of church is filled with the wonderful sight of all the kids who become a part of the nativity scene.

YOUTH CHOIR: The youth choir will also be singing for the 4:30 p.m. service. Practices will be December 9, 16 and 23 from 11:15 a.m.—noon in the Olcott Room. If you haven’t joined the choir yet, it’s not too late! Come to the Olcott Room and be a part of it!
